■ L’utilisation d’accessoires non recommandés ni vendus par le fabricant
présente des risques d’incendies, de secousses électriques ou de
blessures.
■ L’appareil est conçu uniquement pour une utilisation domestique et
non, pour une utilisation industrielle ou commerciale.
■ Débrancher le chargeur de la prise avant de nettoyer le socle de
chargement.
■ Le produit renferme des piles au nickel-cadmium qui doivent être
recyclées ou mises au rebut de façon appropriée à la fin de la durée
utile de l’appareil (consulter la rubrique relative au retrait et à la mise au
rebut des piles). Ne pas incinérer les piles ni les jeter au compostage car
elles risquent d’exploser lorsque soumises à des températures élevées.
■ Dans des conditions extrêmes, il peut y avoir des fuites au niveau des
cellules des piles. Si le liquide (une solution d’hydrogène de potassium
à 20-35 p. 100) entre en contact avec la peau, il faut (1) laver
immédiatement à l’eau et au savon ou (2) neutraliser à l’aide d’un
acide doux (jus de citron ou vinaigre, p. ex.). Si le liquide excitateur
atteint les yeux, il faut rincer à l’eau claire pendant au moins dix
minutes. Consulter immédiatement un médecin.

Removal:
1. Remove the Cutting Assembly from the unit. (See “Care and
Cleaning”). Use a small Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws on
the unit and pry the two halves apart. You will
see two barrel shaped batteries and
connections. If the batteries have
leaked or vented, put on
protective gloves before
touching them.
2. Disconnect the negative (-)
black wire from one battery
by sliding the connection off
the battery (D). Disconnect the
positive (+) red wire in the same
way. Lift the battery pack out.
Why You Should Recycle Your Rechargeable Batteries?
Unlike alkaline batteries that may last only a few weeks before needing
replacement, nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd) batteries can be recharged over
and over again. Though Ni-Cd batteries last far longer than alkalines —
usually 5 to 7 years — they eventually will no longer hold a charge. When
that happens, some consumers throw away the batteries or the product
itself which is wasteful and harmful to the environment. To help avoid this,
contact your local recycling center for information on dropping off spent

THE RBRC™ SEAL
The RBRC™ (Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation) Seal
on the nickel-cadmium battery (or battery pack) indicates that
the costs to recycle the battery (or battery pack) at the end of
its useful life have already been paid. In some areas, it is illegal
to place spent nickel-cadmium batteries in the trash or municipal
solid waste stream and the RBRC program provides an environmentally-
conscious alternative.
RBRC has established programs in the United States to facilitate the
collection of spent nickel-cadmium batteries. Help protect our
environment and conserve natural resources by bringing the spent
nickel-cadmium battery to your participating local retailer for recycling.
You may also contact your local recycling center for information on
dropping off spent batteries in your town. For more information on
