TheSneak-A-Cup®featureallowsyoutopouracupofcoffeefromthecarafewhilethe

coffeeisbrewing.Whenthecarafeisremoved,thebrewingprocessispaused.Simply

replacethecarafeonthecarafeplatewithin30secondsandbrewingresumes.

• Stircoffeeincarafebeforeservingtoevenlydistributetheflavor.

• Coffeethatispouredduringbrewingcyclemayvaryinstrengthfromthefinishedbrew.

• Notsurehowmuchcoffeetouse?Beginbyusing1leveltablespoonofmediumgrind

coffeeforeachcupofcoffeetobebrewed.

• Forvariety,adda2-inchpieceoflemonororangepeeltothecoffeegroundsbefore

brewing.

• Foraspecialoccasion,whipsomeheavycreamwith1or2tablespoonsofhazelnut,

chocolateoralmondliqueur.Usetotopoffeachcupofcoffee.

• Adda2-inchpieceofvanillabeantothesugarbowl.You’llbesurprisedathowgoodit

tastes.

• Keepyourcoffeemakerscrupulouslyclean;youwillbepleasedwiththeflavor.

CLEANING

1. Besuretheunitisunpluggedandcooled.

2. Graspthesmallhandleonthefilterbasketandswingbasketcompletelyopen.

3. Removethefilterbasketbyliftingthebasketstraightupand

offofpivothinge(E)

4. Discardthepaperfilterwiththegrounds.

5. Cleanpartsasfollows:

• Filterbasket,carafeandlidarealltop-rackdishwashersafe;

ortheymaybehandwashedinwarm,sudsywater.

• Wipetheexteriorandthe"KeepHot"carafeplatewithasoftdampcloth.Donotuse

abrasivecleansersorscouringpads.Neverimmersethecoffeemakerinwater.

6. Insertfilterbasketontopivothingeandswingclosed.

CARING FOR YOUR CARAFE

Adamagedcarafemayresultinpossibleburnsfromahotliquid.Toavoidbreaking:

• Donotallowallliquidtoevaporatefromthecarafewhileonthe"KeepHot"carafeplate

orheatthecarafewhenempty.

• Discardthecarafeifdamagedinanymanner.Achiporcrackcouldresultinbreakage.

• Neveruseabrasivescouringpadsorcleansers,theywillscratchandweakentheglass.

• Donotplacethecarafeonornearahotgasorelectricburner,inaheatedoven,orina

microwaveoven.

• Avoidroughhandlingandsharpblows.

MINERAL DEPOSITS AND CLOGGING

Mineraldepositsleftbyhardwatercanclogyourcoffeemaker.Excessivesteamingora

prolongedbrewingcyclearesignsthatacleaningisneeded.Cleaningisrecommended

onceamonth.

1. Pourwhitevinegarintothewaterreservoiruptothe6-cuplevelonthewater

window.Addfreshwateruptothe10-cupline,andclosethereservoirlid.

2. Graspfilterbasketbysmallhandleandswingopen.

3. Putanewpaperfilterinthefilterbasket,swingthebasketclosedandbesureit

latches.Settheemptycarafeonthe"KeepHot"carafeplate.

4. Turnthecoffeemakeron(I)andlethalfthecleaningsolutionbrewintothecarafe.

Turnthecoffeemakeroff(O)andletitsoakforatleast15minutestosoftenthe

deposits.

5. Turnthecoffeemakeron(I)andbrewtheremainingcleaningsolutionintothecarafe.

6. Whenthecleaningsolutionhasfinishedbrewing,discardthepaperfilteremptythe

carafeandrinsewithcleanwater.

7. Refillthereservoirwithcoldwatertothe10-cupline,replacetheemptycarafe,put

apaperfilterinthefilterbasket,thenturnonthecoffeemakerandrunanotherbrew

cycletoflushouttheremainingcleaningsolution.

8. Washthefilterbasket,carafeandcarafelidasinstructedinCLEANING.
